Coaches Raffle Winners!

Ever wish that you could spend more time with your Varsity coaches outside of class? After our CoachesRaffle during Varsitys Summer Kickoff event, six lucky students were able to make that wish a reality! Each winner had the opportunity to spend up to four extra hours (up to one of those hours used for an exclusive private class) with the coach of their choice during the month of June.  After their private class, they were able to choose the activity of their choice! Wait until you see the fun our coaches and students had during their time together!

Our lucky winners and their chosen coaches were:

Alyssia and Celine Coach Donnell and Coach Billie

       Louis Coach Amy

       Nina Coach Seth

       Bill Coach Seth

       Harry Coach Rebecca

Alyssia and Celine

The girls decided to split their one hour private time between tumbling to work on back handsprings and and learn some hip hop choreography with Coaches Billie and Donnell. After their lesson, everyone went together to get manicures and pedicures. Dont their nails look beautiful?

Louis

Louis used his private coaching hour to work on his hip hop skills and learn a new dance with Coach Amy. Louis loves to ice skate, so he and his parents took both Coach Amy and Coach Elvis to eat and skate afterwards! Coach Amy was impressed with how fast Louis could skate on his own!

Nina and Coach Seth worked on dive rolls and back handsprings during their private lesson. Nina is on one of our cheer dance teams, so she even gave Coach Seth a lesson on how to do a hip hop skill called a windmill. He tried really hard, but couldnt do it quite as good as Nina!

Bill

Bill and Coach Seth worked on their tumbling fundamentals and strengthening drills. After a lot of hard work on the spring floor and tumble track, they had some fun making mazes with the workout cones. Bill is quite the architect!

Harry

Harry and Coach Rebecca worked on cartwheels and back bends during their private lesson time. Afterwards, they headed out to a wonderful traditional Cantonese lunch and adventured to the ancient port of Whampoa where they went to a museum and ate ice cream. Rebecca had such a blast spending the day with Harry!

The coaches at Varsity love getting to know our students and their families! Thank you to all those who participated. We were honored that each person took the time out of their schedules to spend time with us!

Dancing has always been the big love of Amy’s life. Born in Houston, TX, Amy began training in dance at a young age. She grew up in studios dancing competitively across the country. She trained and competed in ballet, jazz, tap, pom, and hip-hop.  Amy went to high school in Lafayette, LA where she was a member of the 19 time national champion St. Thomas More Sparklers and served as Co-Captain her senior year. She attended college at the University of Oklahoma where she received a B.A. in Material Dynamics and Computer Systems, and was a member and Captain of the University of Oklahoma Pom Squad.

After university, she continued her career in dance choreographing competition routines for several schools including NDA pom national champions Norman North High School, and receiving the Best Choreography Award twice over the past 4 years at NDA nationals. She is excited to share her love of dance with those at the Varsity Cheerleading Academy!
